How to Make $500 a day with google adsense

When I first got into online marketing, I heard you can make money from ads such as AdSense, which was appealing. I knew I wanted to earn passive income, so I thought, why not try to make $500 a day. So, I researched how to do it and put together this helpful article to explain what I found.

So, how do you make $500 a day with Adsense? You need to generate enough clicks and impressions from your website or Youtube channel. This can be done with different marketing methods available. Using content and social media are the most common ways, especially if you go viral.

Unless you are already making money with Adsense, it makes sense to start with a smaller goal; otherwise, you will be demotivated. You also need some more concrete strategies on how to do it. So, read on where I will talk about how to get to $500 a day with Adsense.

How to generate enough visitors to your website or Youtube channel to make $500 a day with Adsense?

Unlike a poster-sized ad you see around a city or a big billboard that can be seen from far away, to make money from Adsense, you need to get website visitors and youtube viewers. Note: To make $500 a day, you need A LOT of traffic.

Different types of ads pay different amounts per click or impression. An impression is when someone sees the ad. But, Adsense also looks at how long the ad was in a person’s view. For example, if the ad was flashed to your audience, but they quickly scrolled past it, they won’t give you credit for showing the ad.

So, you won’t get paid for it. When this happens, companies paying Google to make the ads don’t get the same number of clicks and sales. Google offers two versions of their ad service. One is where companies that buy the ad space pay per click. So, they only pay for each individual click.

The second way is when they pay per impression/view. This is when someone looks at the ad – they can see when this happens using computer code that runs in the background of the website. Which can track where a person clicked and scrolled.

It is done using a programming language known as Javascript, for the most part. It is the most popular programming language for front-end websites at the moment.

The way ad providers such as Google measure how much they pay you in RPM (revenue per mill), not to be confused with million. A mill means 1000, much like a millimeter, which is 1000 parts of 1 meter. So, it is the revenue per 1000 views.

But, with pay per click, they just list it as a dollar amount, such as $0.75 per click. Or, they can say it has a PPC (pay per click) of $0.75.

According to Alphainvestors.com, the average RPM they experienced was $5 to $10. But, as high as $100 for competitive industries.

So to make $500 a day you would need:

500/5*1000 = 100,000 visitors a day. As a conservative estimate. If you get higher RPMs this number will go down. For $10 RPM’s you would need 50,000 visitors a day.

Which is about 1,500,000 to 3,000,000 page views a month.

So, then it becomes a matter of getting 50,000 to 100,000 pageviews a day.

How do you get 10,000 views a day to your blog or Youtube channel?

The most common way is to write blog articles and make Youtube videos. Starting your own Youtube channel is becoming more and more of an accepted career choice. Also, you don’t need a lot of equipment to make a successful youtube channel. Start by having a nice background, some free editing software, and some inexpensive microphone equipment. Most YouTubers recommend a lapel mic as it stops the echo sound you get when talking in a room.

In the video below, one YouTuber explains how much famous YouTubers and other YouTubers can make with a youtube channel. He also explains that he gets a youtube Adsense revenue of between $4 to $10.

He also explains that with a 100,000 subscriber youtube channel, you can make about $10,000 a month or $300 a day. Not far off. So, with about 150,000 subscribers or more, you can begin to make $500 a day.

Imagine how much YouTubers like Pewdiepie make over 100 million subscribers. It’s almost mind-blowing.

Blogging, on the other hand, is a bit different. You need to write enough articles that rank highly on Google so that you have around 300,000 page views a month.

On average, an article that ranks in Google will bring in 500 to 1,000 page views a month. So, my estimate is that you will need to write 600 to 300 blog articles. It sounds like a lot. If you write one article per day for a whole year, you would have more than 300 blog posts.

Though it may seem a bit daunting, once you get started, you will like it. Also, once it starts making money, you can reinvest it into hiring writers to speed up the process.

Along the way, you will start making some money, which makes it very encouraging.

What topics have higher RPMs?

According to SEMrush, in English-speaking countries, the topics that have the highest RPMs are insurance.

Different types of insurance are included within this—for example, car insurance, health insurance, life insurance.

This is because companies in the insurance industry make a very large amount of money from the people they sign up. And people will keep their insurance for years, if not for the rest of their lives.

So, it makes sense for insurance companies to spend a lot of money up front to get a customer.

Alejandro Rioja suggests other topics with high CPCs are:

  • Gas/Electricity $57 CPC
  • Loans $50 CPC
  • Mortgage $44 CPC
  • Attorney $48 CPC
  • Lawyer $43 CPC
  • Donate $42 CPC
  • Conference Call $42 CPC
  • Degree $40 CPC
  • Credit $38 CPC

Most of these niches are incredibly competitive. Meaning there is already excellent content for all the main topics. If you can’t create excellent content on them, you won’t do well on Google or Youtube. But, it is possible to find obscure topics within them that many of the really big websites may not have considered, or aren’t interested in creating content.

Alphainvestor.com, on the other hand, recommends making a website about downloads. They say the reason to do this is that when people are looking for something to download.

In other types of websites, people search on Google for information. They generally read through the data and skim over ads. But, with a download type of website, people are looking to click something to download.

If your site is not to clear, it can lead to users closing the browser too early before seeing the ads. This isn’t a good experience for people searching on Google and for your pocket.

Some topics are seasonal.

Certain topics you might think about starting a Youtube channel or a blog are seasonal. Which means they are only popular during certain times of the year. It can be worth it to create these since the competition might be lower. But, be aware that they may make $500 a day during trending season only and not much else during the year.

Examples to give you an idea are:

  • Holiday products. Such as Christmas decorations and St. Patrick’s Day.
  • Outdoor activities. Fishing, skateboarding, surfing.
  • Ice hockey.
  • American football.

So, before you ultimately decide on what niche to make your website or youtube channel about, just double-check it isn’t seasonal. Or that you are OK with fluctuating income.

I wrote an article recently about finding products to sell online, which covers the basics of sourcing good products. You can read that article by clicking what are some trending but not oversaturated products to get a feel for what e-commerce products are selling best in 2020, which will give you ideas on what topic to make your website about.

Should you start with only one website/youtube channel to make $500 a day?

Pretty much every person I have come across that makes a significant income from blogging – over $15,000 a month – does so with multiple websites and youtube channels. This is because once you see a bit of success with one, you want to create more and more. It is also good to diversify. That way, if your website somehow stops making money, you already have a backup.

This is extremely valuable with a blog or youtube channel that makes money from Adsense because it takes quite a bit of time to build it up to the point where it is making a significant amount of money.

With Youtube, however, I mostly see people only have one Youtube channel, and like you probably, I’ve watched A LOT of youtube videos.

Start with one or two until they make money.

It can be challenging enough to make one website. It takes a lot of motivation, especially fitting it around your work, family, and social life. So, for most people, I would recommend commencing with one.

That way, you can see one through until it is making money, and that will give you the motivation to create the additional ones. The hardest part about following through on a website or Youtube channel is producing content consistently.

When you first make one, you have a lot of enthusiasm, but over time it fades, and you can end up with an unfinished project. You’ll be even less motivated to work on two at the same time because it takes twice the amount of time.

How to make content for your blog or Youtube channel that will get you 10,000 views a day?

Apart from quantity, you also want quality. Google has access to all the data about what visitors do once they go to your website or Youtube channel. So, they can see if visitors aren’t spending enough time on your website.

As you may be aware, Google owns Youtube. Google incentivizes website owners by the amount of time visitors stay hooked. That way, they can get the most revenue from advertising (Adsense), which is their business model.

So, they want to make Google – Youtube to give the best possible experience to their visitors. When you have clickbait type articles or videos that don’t do a good job of engaging the viewer, Google won’t put your pages and videos where they need to be. Thus this lessens the amount of passive income you can earn.

Therefore, when they see that people are going to your page, quickly clicking off it and going to another website, they will put a negative check. Because it shows that people are not finding what they are looking for and have to look elsewhere.

As a result, you want to make sure your content is what your audience is looking in a well-written matter the user would enjoy. Sometimes, this is easier said than done. But, with enough research, you can figure it out. And after a bit of practice, it will become second nature.

The easiest way is to think about what you would like to see when you are searching for the topic you are writing or making a video about. For example, if you are making a video in the car insurance industry. Most people who are looking for information about that are interested in:

  • How much does it cost?
  • What does it cover?
  • How do prices compare?
  • What do you get if you pay more?
  • Reviews or Testimonials of claims.

So, create the specific content so that it answers all of these questions. You can also look at what the top results in Youtube and Google are doing for that topic and model them. Also, be sure to include information they have left out.

Additionally, some topics no one has made good quality content for. As you look around and become familiar with your industry, you can spot them very easily. When you come across one, make a note of it and save it for later.

How long should you spend creating each piece of content?

For a blog article, you should spend about 30 to 60 minutes per 500 words. Thirty minutes for 500 words is very fast and at the top of the game. A beginner will take as long as it takes, and you can only get faster from there. If you write every day within a month, you’ll be pretty close, if not already, at 500 words per 30 minutes.

Although specific topics can take longer because they require more research, if you know the topic really well – for example, you do it or did it for a job – you will create content much faster.

On top of that, you will want to find some quality images. Generally, you should post photos that look like stock photos.

For creating a 10-minute youtube video, it will take:

  • 10 minutes to record it, at least.
  • It can take 30 minutes to 1 hour to edit it and make a custom screenshot.
  • An additional 10 to 15 minutes to upload it to Youtube and write the description.

So all together about 1 to 2 hours. If it’s your first time doing it, you will likely take a lot longer. But, once you get good at it, you can finish a whole video in under an hour.

Conclusion

To make $500 a day with Adsense, you need to get 50,000 pages or video views a day to your website or Youtube channel. It will take quite some time to put all the content together. In total, you will need anywhere from 300 blog articles or more or about 100,000 subscribers on your Youtube channel.
