3 Easy Things to Make to Sell
Selling crafts online is a great way to go about making some extra cash. For folks who already have a little creative knack—say, knitting scarves or blowing glass—this is a pretty easy game to get into. On the other hand, those of us who can neither knit nor blow glass may need a little extra help. But fear not, non-artisans! There are plenty of easy-to-make crafts that anyone—yes, even us!—can make and sell for profit.
For the less artistically inclined, here are some very easy things to make to sell that require very little effort and very little expense:
Cork hot plates
These are perfect for wine enthusiasts (or friends of wine enthusiasts)! You can save up all your own corks, ask your friends to donate theirs, or maybe even visit some nearby restaurants and ask if they’d be willing to donate their old corks to you. Once you have enough corks, you can easily buy some plain, cheap hotplates (or picture frames, or maybe even just gather some slabs of wood), glue the corks to the surface, and there you go—a nifty new hotplate! (You can use corks for bulletin boards or coasters, too!)
Shells in a jar
I know this one seems almost too simple to be real, but it’s not! Their all around beachiness, hominess, and coziness make shells in jars surprisingly sought-after decorations. So if you’re a non-crafter living by a beach (or if you’re willing to invest a few bucks to buy sacks of seashells online), this is a perfect craft for you. Just stick a few shells in some mason jars, maybe throw on a label or a ribbon if you’re so inclined, and you’re good to go. (Note: Other things can be put in jars, too! Sea glass, food, dried flowers, or colored sand are all good options.)
Framed chalkboards
Since chalkboards can be purchased relatively cheap from any craft store and picture frames can be purchased extremely cheap from any dollar store, this is one of the cheapest and easiest options out there. All you have to do is add the dollar store frame to the craft store chalkboard and your project is complete! (Note that for the slightly more ambitious non-crafters, chalkboard paint is also an option. If you go this route, you can forego buying the chalkboard and just turn virtually any surface into a chalkboard with a few easy swipes.) Again, sprucing is always an option—a few bows and ribbons can go a long way!
See that, anti-artisans? There’s hope for us yet! Thanks to countless DIY websites and Pinterest boards, we’ll never run out of options for easy things to make and sell online. Now all you have to do is start crafting and register yourself with SheepBuy to start making yourself some extra cash!
